Ladies, I seriously need guy help. Advice please?

STORY: So I met this guy like a week ago, and we really liked eachother. We would go to other people's houses and watch movies while sitting on the couch. His arm would be around me, and I would be snuggled into his side, and it would be so cute! When we would leave, he would text me and say "I miss you" and "I'm not gunna lie, but I want to be with you right now." We weren't dating, but we acted like we were. All I wanted to do was be with him, and everyone knew we liked eachother. I started to feel him annoying, because I was texting him everyday, because his texts just started to slow down. He didn't take any part in trying to keep the conversation going. A couple nights ago, I called him and asked him what we were, because people were asking me, and I didn't know what to tell them. He said he wanted to take it slow, to make sure we liked eachother. The whole time, I was thinking "What the hell! I know I like you, and it sure SEEMED like you liked me, but whatever." So I just let things go on, but now he's not even texting me back. He always used to text me in the morning. Now, I have to text him first before he finally responds to me. I feel annoying, and like I'm a bothersome. I didn't text him for the first time today, and he never texted me, even though I said "Text me in the morning if you want." It seemed like he liked me, but I don't know what to do. It feels like I'm the only one trying to make it work! Help me pleeease! And please, be harsh if you have to. I need the truth, and the best advice you've got in you! Thank you.
