Depo provera and endometriosis?

Has anyone ever been put on depo provera, to help with your endometriosis symptoms. How did it work out for you? Have you tried anything else that worked? I was put on depo a month ago to help with my symptoms and it has gotten worse! after this my doctor wants to put me on a stronger pill that will put me in menopause I really don't want to do that. any suggestions?
